Full-color printing is standard with your custom CD projects. Depending on your production choice, timing and order size, other disc printing options may be available, including black on silver, knock-out effect, and premium glossy print.

For short run duplication projects, CDs are digitally printed with either high-end ink jet or film transfer CMYK printing technology. Our replicated CDs are printed using either offset or silkscreen equipment. Contact us if you have specific Pantone (PMS) color matching requirements.

CD Replication and Short Run Duplication Options

Our short run CD service enables low minimums, with most packaging options starting at 50 units. Short run duplication involves copying your audio content directly onto pre-made CD-R blanks. Our CD replication is a full manufacturing process in which discs are pressed through an injection molding process, during which content is directly embedded.

Audio sound will be nearly indistinguishable whether you select duplication or replication; silkcreen and offset disc printing options available with disc replication allow for more precise color matching and consistency. With a larger minimum order size of replication, generally 300 units, there are also additional offline and custom packaging options available at higher quantities. Optional digital and retail finishes for your Audio CDs

Mastertrack offers a number of optional add-ons to help make your CD project complete for retail distribution.

CD Text – including CD Text enables artist name, track name and album name to display when your disc is played in enabled cars and players. Without CD Text, the track names will only show as “track 1”, “track 2”, etc…

ISRC Codes – the International Standard Recording Code (ISRC) is a standardized code for identifying music recordings. Different recordings, edits, and remixes of the same work should each have their own ISRC. When you include ISRC codes, each track on your audio CD will be coded with a permanent identifier. As the content owner, you are responsible for securing the ISRC numbers for each track before you place your order. You can do so at https://isrc.ifpi.org/en/get-isrc

Gracenotes – including Gracenotes allows your CD Text data to display on any computer or device in which your music is played through an internet connection. The Gracenote database supplies details to iTunes and other music services like Pandora, Spotify and others.

UPC Barcodes – Barcodes can be used for tracking your physical sales by distributors, retailers and Soundscan. If you’re selling your CDs at physical retailers and many online retailers, you may need a UPC barcode.

Audio Mastering – if you have not already mastered your tracks, consider our audio mastering service which allows professional mastering engineers to add EQ, compression and volume leveling to achieve an enhanced audio experience for your customers and fans.
